The ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY campus bus operator that banned BONNEVILLE Talk KTAR-F/PHOENIX after a single student complaint has now apologized for the flap, but banned all radio stations from the buses.
COACH AMERICA GM KRISTIN MARTINEZ said that the "Quiet Ride" would let riders read, study,or talk with friends undisturbed by radio, and suggested that people wishing to hear radio or other "media content" can listen privately.
"Unfortunately, we made a mistake in the way we communicated with our drivers. Our internal memo caused many to believe we had 'banned' KTAR from our buses because our memo referred to offensive content of a broadcast," said MARTINEZ in a statement issued THURSDAY. "We regret the statement and we apologize to station KTAR for the inappropriate comment."
