CLEAR CHANNEL Hot AC WKDD/AKRON morning man MATT PATRICK will add an afternoon talk show on sister Talk WHLO-A starting MONDAY (4/28). PATRICK, who will continue as WKDD's morning host, will air 5-7p ET, replacing the last hour of ABC's SEAN HANNITY; that hour will air on delay at 9p, while ABC's MARK LEVIN moves up to 7-9p and TALK RADIO NETWORK's RUSTY HUMPHRIES moves up to 10p. OHIO MEDIA WATCH, which broke the news of PATRICK's double-dipping last week, notes that TRN's MICHAEL SAVAGE appears to have been bumped from WHLO's lineup.
"This will be a fun challenge, with two different shows aimed at two uniquely different audiences. My goal is that the audience will hear the other side of MATT," said PATRICK.
Market Manager and VP DAN LANKFORD said, "MATT now has an outlet for content that is more palatable to the audience of WHLO ... MATT has already demonstrated the ability to understand and focus on a specific audience, and now he can effectively do that with two different brands, one on WHLO, the other on WKDD."
Director of Programming Operations KEITH KENNEDY added, "I can’t think of anyone on the air who speaks as passionately for and about our community as MATT; he’s an advocate for our town."
