Journal Comm Q3 Down, Radio Down 8.1%

JOURNAL COMMUNICATIONS, INC. announced TODAY that for the third period ended MARCH 30th, 2008, total revenues for its Publishing and Broadcast groups of $44.52 million decreased 8.9% compared to $48.84 million reported for the third period ended APRIL 1st, 2007. For the third period 2008, advertising revenues of $36.90 million decreased 10.2% compared to $41.10 million for the 2007 third period. Both periods contained 35 days.
At the Broadcasting segment, total revenue at the Company’s radio and television stations of $19.99 million decreased 6.4% compared to $21.35 million. At the radio group, revenue of $6.85 million was down 8.1% compared to $7.46 million, in part reflecting changes in a sports affiliation agreement that previously included advertising revenue and is now fee-per-game.
