Stern Continues To Rule Sat Ratings

ARBITRON has released data from the FALL 2007 radio survey found that listeners of satellite radio had increased by more than 500,000 over the SPRING 2007 report. This represents a total of 17,502,700 listeners.
The survey area for this report included all sampling markets that are part of ARBITRON's Diary service. Data samples include all people age 12 or older, but did not include areas where ARBITRON's PPM is used -- specifically, HOUSTON and PHILADELPHIA. An ARBITRON source told ALL ACCESS that the reason for that is because neither satellite company has agreed to encode its channels. The report was not submitted to the MRC for accreditation.
Facts from the report include:
* HOWARD STERN and his channels represent the most listened to stations from either service.
* NFL Radio on SIRIUS increased its listenership significantly in the FALL.
* CHRISTMAS and holiday channels also saw a spike over the SPRING report, representing a seasonal shift in listening.
