BRITNEY SPEARS was awarded extended visits with her sons after a child custody hearing in LOS ANGELES Superior County Court on TUESDAY, THE NEW YORK TIMES reported. MARK VINCENT KAPLAN, a lawyer for KEVIN FEDERLINE, her former husband, said the extended visits with the children, SEAN PRESTON, 2, and JAYDEN JAMES, 1, were "recognition of the progress that has been made, a progress of structure and stability."
FEDERLINE has had full custody of the children since JANUARY, when the police were summoned to SPEARS’ home, and she was taken by ambulance to a medical center after refusing to surrender the boys to FEDERLINE's bodyguard.
In a statement read by a court spokesman, SPEARS’ parents said, "We are so pleased with BRITNEY’s progress and we are very appreciative of the court’s recognition of this progress." A report on the new arrangement was scheduled for JULY 15th.
