Media Audit, Ipsos Partner For Meter Proposal

One of the challengers to ARBITRON's PPM in CLEAR CHANNEL's request for proposals for new ratings meter services is a partnership between MEDIA AUDIT and IPSOS MEDIA, who are proposing a passive ratings service based on a special cell phone that tracks media exposure using watermarked signals and audio matching. The companies are planning to test the system in the U.S. in mid-2006.
The MEDIA AUDIT/IPSOS proposal is the first of the applications in response to the CLEAR CHANNEL RFP to become public.
