Tribune D.C. Editor Joining NPR

TRIBUNE CO. Senior WASHINGTON Editor VICKIE WALTON-JAMES joins NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO as Supervising Editor for the MIDWEST and SOUTH, according to a memo obtained by JIM ROMENESKO at the POYNTER INSTITUTE.
The memo, from NPR's STEVEN DRUMMOND, says that WALTON-JAMES will direct the network's news coverage across 24 states and will start JULY 1st. A memo from TRIBUNE's GEROULD W. KERN to TRIBUNE staff says that WALTON-JAMES' last day at TRIBUNE will be JUNE 6th.
