CBS News WCBS-A/NEW YORK and SETON HALL UNIVERSITY have launched a scholarship fund for students with disabilities.
The ED LUCAS SCHOLARSHIP FUND, named after a baseball broadcaster who attended SETON HALL and hosted baseball shows despite having lost his sight (on OCTOBER 3, 1951, the day BOBBY THOMSON's "Shot Heard Around the World" beat the DODGERS and sent the GIANTS to the World Series), will benefit from WCBS' "Strikeouts for Scholarships," in which the station will donate $10 for each strikeout by a YANKEE pitcher. Fans can add their donations at shu.edu.
