ESPN RADIO will launch special content specifically for HD RADIO multicast stations with this weekend's coverage of UEFA EURO 2008 soccer. The programming, debuting with SATURDAY's SWITZERLAND-CZECH REPUBLIC match at 11a ET, will be delivered through a special ESPN HD RADIO network appliance and Internet/satellite system that will allow for customization and programming of stations through the internet, downloading live and pre-recorded material in a one-box solution plus datacasting material including scores.
"Offering content by utilizing new technologies and new distribution channels is part of our overall strategy of serving the sports fan," said SVP/Business Units TRAUG KELLER. "EURO 2008 on HD RADIO multicast broadcasting is an opportunity to deliver world class soccer to our ESPN RADIO listeners while still providing regularly scheduled ESPN RADIO programs on the main channel."
