The MUSICFIRST COALITION TODAY said a comparison of the Performance Rights Act (H.R. 4789 and S. 2500) and the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS (NAB)-backed non-binding resolution (H. CON. RES. 244 and S. CON. RES. 82) highlights the broad similarities between the two initiatives and one major point of disagreement.
"When you look at the MUSICFIRST-backed bills and corporate radio’s non-binding resolution, there’s not too much we disagree on," said EVP DOYLE BARTLETT. "We think corporate radio should pay the artists and musicians who bring music to life and listeners ears to the radio dial. They don’t. But on a broad range of issues we agree."
