John And Ken Rally Against Balloon Ban

CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES afternoon hosts JOHN AND KEN are at it again, this time protesting a state politician's move to ban Mylar balloons with a rally in MEMORIAL PARK in PASADENA, replete with balloons and a "field trip" by volunteers marching to State Rep. JACK SCOTT's office holding balloons. The legislator proposed the bill for a variety of reasons -- one of them being balloons landing on power lines and causing outages -- but JOHN and KEN characterized it as an attempt to take fun away from children.
"I think he (SCOTT) and his staff are busy in the basement popping balloons as we speak," JOHN KOBYLT quipped, noting that the percentage of Mylar ballloons that cause outages is 0.0000148%; KEN CHIAMPOU added that the state PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION told SCOTT that none of last year's 6,000 power outages were tracked to Mylar balloons, later backtracking to suggest that some might be caused by balloons, but that the state has not tracked any to date.
The duo will be out among their public again FRIDAY at GOODWIN FIELD in FULLERTON for "JOHN KOBYLT BOBBLEHEAD NIGHT" at the ORANGE COUNTY FLYERS minor league baseball game; KOBYLT owns a share of the FLYERS franchise.
