A 62-year-old former WACO radio personality was sentenced WEDNESDAY in federal court to eight years in prison after his APRIL child pornography conviction, reports THE WACO TRIBUNE. JOHN DOKKEN told U.S. District Judge WALTER SMITH that he was "ashamed, humble and accountable" and has since embraced a new life through a ministry that targets pornography offenders.
DOKKEN was sentenced to 97 months in prison plus five years of supervised release after he leaves prison. He also must pay a fine of $1,000.
Before his conviction, DOKKEN was GM/morning host on Country Gold KWOW-F. His attorney, JOHN DONAHUE, said during WEDNESDAY’s hearing that DOKKEN had heart problems in 2005 and had quit working. Assistant U.S. Attorney GREGORY GLOFF said hundreds of images involving children being raped and abused were found on DOKKEN’s computer on DECEMBER 11, 2007.
