Mike Gallagher Talks Officer Out Of Ticketing Listener
June 18, 2008 at 11:14 AM (PT)
In a powerful example of Talk radio's unique intimate connection with its listeners, SALEM RADIO NETWORK's MIKE GALLAGHER talked a listener's way out of a traffic ticket this morning. The listener, from NORTH CAROLINA, was talking to GALLAGHER when he was pulled over by an officer from the Sheriff's department. GALLAGHER asked the caller to hand the phone over to the officer, then proceeded to interview the officer about the infraction (an obscured license plate) and convinced the officer to let the driver off with a warning.
SALEM VP/News and Talk Programming TOM TRADUP tells ALL ACCESS that "Despite all the crowing about the 'New Media,' I believe it is safe to say no blog or podcast ever went to bat for a listener with law enforcement live and in such an entertaining way."
