GREATER MEDIA Talk WBT-A-F/CHARLOTTE afternoon host JEFF KATZ has been honored as the Parent of the Year by the ARC OF MECKLENBURG COUNTY. The honor was announced on FRIDAY, the same day that the CHARLOTTE WEEKLY ran an article about KATZ' five year old daughter JULIA, who has global developmental disabilities.
NBC affiliate WCNC-TV (NBC6)/CHARLOTTE weatherman LARRY SPRINKLE presented the award to a very surprised KATZ, who said "I am honored beyond words.... I want to thank the wonderful people of The ARC OF MECKLENBURG COUNTY not just for this tremendous honor but for their hard work every single day to enrich the lives of people like my daughter JULIA. On a lighter note, this award now gives me the opportunity to question everything my wife does, which is a great side benefit!"
KATZ serves on the Board of Visitors of LIFESPAN SERVICES and advocates for disabled children to receive increased recreational opportunities as a member of the SOUTH PARK DISTRICT ADVISORY COUNCIL.
