Leoni-Sceti Named CEO At EMI; Other Exec Changes

As tipped in ALL ACCESS over a week ago (NET NEWS, 6/27), EMI has appointed a new music unit Chief Executive. ELIO LEONI-SCETI, 42, who was EVP of RECKITT BENCKISER, maker of skin care product CLEARASIL, FRENCH'S MUSTARD, NUROFEN pain reliever and other products.
"Having completed the organizational restructuring at the end of JUNE and finalized our strategic work, ELIO joins at the right time to shape, drive and lead EMI to become the world's most artist-focused and consumer-friendly music company," said TERRA FIRMA CAPITAL PARTNERS CEO GUY HANDS.
Memo Lays Out Other Changes
There are other executive changes at EMI, as veteran exec JF CECILLON is out as Pres./A&R Labels International and Pres./EMEA, at the end of next week, and could move into an advisory role with the label, boss GUY HANDS told staff in an e-mail. The SILICON ALLEY INSIDER also reports HANDS informed the staff of these other changes:
"BILLY MANN, EMI Music’s Chief Creative Officer based in NEW YORK, will assume the additional role of Pres./A&R Labels International, assuming JF’s responsibilities for artist development in countries outside NORTH AMERICA and The U.K."
"DAVID KASSLER will take over JF’s regional duties as Pres./EUROPE-MIDDLE EAST-AFRICA, in addition to his other role of Pres./Global Artist Projects."
"ASHLEY UNWIN will assume DAVID KASSLER’s former duties as Pres./U.K. and IRELAND. ASHLEY, who has been interim Pres./A&R Labels NORTH AMERICA and U.K., will step down from that role when NICK GATFIELD joins us on JULY 15th."
"At our FRENCH company, where JF was Pres./CEO, NATHALIE COLLIN now moves into the lead management position there as Chairman/EMI MUSIC FRANCE, reporting to DAVID KASSLER."
