A FREDERICK COUNTY Circuit Court judge THURSDAY ordered the arrest of a former radio talk show host convicted of embezzlement after the man failed to appear for his fourth consecutive sentencing date, reports NVDAILY.COM. WILLIAM RANDOLPH "RANDY" WRAY, 46, pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor as part of an agreement three months ago. While serving as a personal trainer, he embezzled funds from the FITNESS ZONE.
WRAY agreed to pay $780 in restitution. Free on bond, WRAY faces a maximum punishment for the class 1 misdemeanor of 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine.
WRAY's attorney, ROGER A. INGER, told Judge JOHN R. PROSSER on THURSDAY that he received a telephone call before court from WRAY's doctor's office. The attorney said he was told that WRAY was in WARREN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL and the doctor would fax him something about WRAY's condition.
FREDERICK COUNTY COMMONWEALTH's Attorney GLENN R. WILLIAMSON told PROSSER that it appears that every time that WRAY is scheduled for sentencing he becomes ill. WILLIAMSON said WRAY is making a "mockery" of the court and asked PROSSER to order that a warrant be issued for WRAY's arrest.
