MIAMI UNIVERSITY of OHIO noncommercial WMUB/OXFORD, OH is dropping its music programming from its primary analog stream, going to full-time News-Talk on AUGUST 3rd, The station's Jazz programming will move to its HD2 channel, with repeats of NPR's "DIANE REHM SHOW" and "TALK OF THE NATION" and BBC WORLD SERVICE programming filling weeknights. The station also said that it will add NPR's "BRYANT PARK PROJECT" morning show to the HD2 channel, but the show is reportedly to be canceled by the network before the scheduled addition.
GM CLEVE CALLISON said on the station website that after an 16 month internal study, "it is time for WMUB to move ahead.... I recognize that these decisions will not appeal to all current listeners. But in the long run these changes will prove their power to serve an audience hungry for even more information, and this enhanced public service will be best for the future of WMUB."
