It looks like there's a new content providing direct rival in town. NAPSTER is partnering with WALT DISNEY RECORDS so it can offer an exclusive commercial-free "Best of DISNEY" radio station featuring music from DISNEY's comprehensive family-fare catalog.
According to CNN.COM, NAPSTER's "Best of DISNEY" radio station will feature Walt Disney Records catalog mainstays such as HANNAH MONTANA, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL and the "CAMP ROCK" soundtrack album featuring the JONAS BROTHERS, as well as soundtracks from DISNEY's classic films, DISNEY/PIXAR's computer-animated films, and theatrical cast recordings. NAPSTER subscribers can also create their own Disney playlists while subscribers and non-subscribers can purchase DISNEY tracks and albums from NAPSTER's recently launched mp3 store.
"We are pleased to offer NAPSTER users the opportunity to enjoy our catalog of classic and contemporary DISNEY music," WALT DISNEY RECORDS Dir./New Media MATT FITZ-HENRY said "It gives fans the opportunity to experience their favorite musical moments from films and television in an entirely new way."
"DISNEY is synonymous with world-class family programming," NAPSTER VP/Music Services MATTHEW ADELL stated. "We are proud to partner with DISNEY as part of our ongoing effort to provide each member of the family access to the artists and music they love."
