June Anything But Hot For Radio Revenue
July 16, 2008 at 2:42 PM (PT)
JUNE turned out to be a crueler month for radio than previously feared, as the RAB reports that overall ad revenue dropped 9% last month. Local revenue fell 10%, while National billing was off even more, down 13%.
The only silver lining in the very dark cloud: Non-spot revenue rose a healthy 10%, but that was nowhere near enough to alleviate the loss in the other areas. Radio has now suffered revenue decreases for 15 months in a row.
