New Jack Swing Hits The Net

The Internet’s first 24-hour New Jack Swing-formatted station has just launched. NEW JACK SWING FOREVER (NJS4EVER.COM) kicked it off with over 20,000 songs in a row, with the bulk of its format based on rhythmic, pop, and urban hits between the years 1985 and 2000.
To program the first Urban Adult Hits Net station Njs4ever Networks, LLC Founder/Co-CEO ANDREW KNYTE appointed STEVEN MILLS as PD/OM and Jo Jo Collins as MD. Air shifts started today, as the station is being broadcast from Wichita, KS. Voiceover and Imaging is being provided by John Cruz Creative Services.
Currently in its BETA stage, New Jack Radio can be listened to by visiting Njs4ever.com and clicking on the NEW JACK RADIO menu option. Listeners will then be directed to a page that identifies songs that have played, and songs that will be coming up over roughly an hour period.
"I am extremely thrilled and excited to see a dream of mine and many others come to fruition with this station," Knyte said. "There is a very large segment of music lovers who currently aren't being served by terrestrial FM at this point: those of us who can be considered Generation X, who aren't being targeted by contemporary hits or adult contemporary formats. While the Rhythmic ACs were a step in the right direction, they have yet to figure out that there is a gold mine of music from the past upon which to build a new format.
"We've decided to show them the way with NEW JACK RADIO. We are confident that given the worldwide demand for New Jack Swing that our website has successfully cultivated and satiated over the last six years, that New Jack Radio is just the kind of product offering that can potentially rejuvenate the radio listening experience. The Internet seems to be the logical place to test our theory, and we are confident that this will succeed."
