NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO has launched an Open API to allow websites and blogs to add NPR news and information content. The API will also let affiliates incorporate more NPR news and information content in their digital media products and services, and will establish a framework for the stations to share their own content. The NPR Open APR will be unveiled at the O'REILLY OPEN SOURCE CONFERENCE in PORTLAND on THURSDAY (7/24).
"An Open API lets NPR offer our content to the public in infinite ways," said Director, User Experience Delivery, NPR DIGITAL MEDIA DARREN MAURO. "The public has always been an essential part of what we do –- we have 'Public' in our name –- and the API concept will advance that relationship in a transformative way."
