Shocker! Just one day after CBS RADIO Hot AC WBMX (MIX 98.5)/BOSTON (NET NEWS 7/22), APD/MD MIKE MULLANEY confirmed that he would cross the street to become OM/PD/morning show host at crosstown NORTHEAST BROADCASTING AAA WXRV (92.5 THE RIVER), MULLANEY apparently had a sudden change of heart. Official word coming from WXRV is that he will be staying at WBMX.
MULLANEY then told ALL ACCESS, "I love the folks at WXRV and have been superb throughout this process, but ultimately I feel that upon further review, WBMX is my home and here is where I need to stay."
Across the street, newly minted AAA Product Manager for NORTHEAST BROADCASTING ZEB NORRIS released a statement noting, "I tried shrieking 'no takebacks,' but to no avail. However, on reflection, it may be for the best. I was shocked to discover that WBMX is playing "Feels Like Tonight" by DAUGHTRY 53 times a week not out of necessity, but because MIKE thinks it's 'wicked good'."
Thus the search for a PD at WXRV re-starts. If you didn't know about the opening for the first go-round, hit NORRIS with your materials now at zeb@pointfm.com. NORRIS adds, "This time we DO want a candidate who can create synergy and take 'THE RIVER' to the next level!"
