TAMA GROUP Rhythmic AC WJSJ (THE COAST 105.3-105.5)/JACKSONVILLE is flipping to Sports as a partial simulcast of SEVEN BRIDGES RADIO Sports WJXL-A (1010XL) under a time brokerage agreement with SEVEN BRIDGES that will start on MONDAY (8/4).
The new lineup has TONY BOSELLI, JEFF PROSSER, and DAN HICKEN hosting 6-10a ("SPORTS FINAL RADIO") on AM and FM, 10a-1p split between TERRY NORVELLE and ARLEY JOHNSON on FM and former JACKSONVILLE JAGUAR TOM MCMANUS on AM, RICK BALLOU simulcast 1-4p, and FRANK FRANGIE and MIKE DEMPSEY simulcast 4-7p (with JAGUAR star MAURICE JONES-DREW hosting a weekly show with MIKE DEMPSEY 6-7p TUESDAYS). The AM will carry JACKSONVILLE UNIVERSITY football, while the FM will carry UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA football into enemy territory.
1010 XL PD JASON DIXON said, "We did months of research that showed a huge number of people in JACKSONVILLE never visit the AM band. The addition of 1010 XL 105.3 FM to our family will allow us to expose that audience to what I believe is one of the best sport radio stations in the southeast. The addition of 105.3 FM also allows us the flexibility to greatly expand 1010 XL’s play by play schedule and live up to our commitment to bring our audience the biggest games."
At the same time, TAMA's WSJF/ST. AUGUSTINE will flip to Oldies as "ST. AUGUSTINE'S TRUE OLDIES 105.5 FM," splitting from the WJSJ simulcast and using ABC RADIO NETWORKS' "TRUE OLDIES" format.
