RESORT BROADCASTING Talk WGMD/REHOBOTH BEACH, DE (SALISBURY-OCEAN CITY) afternoon host BILL COLLEY drew quite a crowd to a live broadcast SATURDAY in a park, where the station's two hour special garnered 1,200 signatures on petitions about the offshore drilling controversy. In addition, 19 people took blank petition forms to collect more signatures, and COLLEY said that the total could reach 3,000 signatures to send to Congresspersons and Senators representing the district. The station didn't offer any entertainment other than the radio broadcast, and had no food or water to give out, yet crowds came out despite poor weather all morning.
"The most frequent comment I heard SATURDAY: This is a great thing you're doing," COLLEY said.
