Condolences to family and friends of bluegrass musician and southern OHIO radio personality PAUL "MOON" MULLINS, who died SUNDAY (8/3) in SPRINGBORO, OH at 71 after a year-long battle with supranuclear palsy.
MULLINS hosted middays at his son JOE MULLINS' CLASSIC COUNTRY RADIO stations (WBZI-A/XENIA, OH; WEDI-A/EATON, OH; and WKFI-A/WILMINGTON, OH) until his 2005 retirement; he earlier hosted at WPFB-A-F/MIDDLETOWN. As a musician, he played the fiddle with various groups, including the CLINCH MOUNTAIN BOYS and THE TRADITIONAL GRASS. He was honored with the OHIO Heritage Fellowship in 2007 by the OHIO ARTS COUNCIL.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Neuroscience Institute Department at the UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI and the GARDNER FAMILY CENTER FOR PARKINSON'S DISEASE AND MOVEMENT DISORDERS at www.Giveto.UC.edu.
