FCC OKs Consent Decree With Tennessee AM
August 6, 2008 at 11:40 AM (PT)
The FCC approves a consent decree with SUNSHINE BROADCASTERS, licensee of Religion WIGN-A/BRISTOL, TN, over a stock transfer that may have violated the Commission's rules on transfer of control without prior FCC approval. SUNSHINE will make a "voluntary contribution" of $5,000 to the U.S. Treasury to settle the matter.
The Commission also fined FRANK NEELY $9,000 for public file violations at Gospel WGIV-A/GASTONIA-CHARLOTTE, NC and denied CSR INTERNATIONAL, INC. an extension of time to construct noncommercial KOGR/ROSEDALE, CA. The Commission noted that CSN started building the station five days before the expiration of the construction permit, and only then discovered that the U.S. FOREST SERVICE bans broadcast antennas at the site.
