Court Tosses Contractor's Defamation Suit Vs. Rhodes, AAR

A three-judge federal panel has thrown out a defamation lawsuit against RANDI RHODES and her former employer AIR AMERICA RADIO by a U.S. government contractor.
CACI PREMIER TECHNOLOGY sued the host, now with NOVA M RADIO, and AAR for $11 million for alleging on the air that its employees raped and murdered Iraqi civilians at ABU GHRAIB. The three-judge panel of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court's dismissal of the suit, ruling that the company had to prove actual malice or reckless disregard for the truth, and characterized RHODES' comments on her AUGUST 26, 2005 show as "free use of hyperbole and exaggeration."
