PERVIS JACKSON, the celebrated bass singer of the SPINNERS, died today of cancer in a DETROIT hospital at the age of 70. JACKSON was an original member of one of AMERICA's best known and most popular singing groups.
As one of the great super soul groups of the 70's, the SPINNERS had a parade of crossover hits that included "COULD IT BE I'M FALLING IN LOVE." "SADE," "LOVE DON'T LOVE NOBODY," "WORKING MY WAY BACK TO YOU," "I'LL BE AROUND," "IT'S A SHAME" and "RUBBERBAND MAN."
