Add two more markets to ENTERCOM Sports WEEI-A/BOSTON's growing simulcast network, as BLUEBERRY BROADCASTING Talk WABI-A and Top 40 WWBX (B-97)/BANGOR, ME and silent WEEY (formerly WTSM)/SPRINGFIELD, VT-KEENE, NH will flip to WEEI programming. The BANGOR combo will flip on SEPTEMBER 1, the same day that the previously-reported shuffle of signals in the PORTLAND, ME market will bring WEEI to two ATLANTIC COAST RADIO FM signals there. The KEENE station will start WEEI programming on or about SEPTEMBER 15.
"We are extremely excited about bringing the WEEI Sports Radio Network brand to greater BANGOR," said BLUEBERRY VP/COO BRUCE A. BIETTE. "This area has a deep sports heritage ranging from the UNIVERSITY OF MAINE programs to an extremely active local high school sports scene. They are very passionate about their NEW ENGLAND sports teams as well and when it comes to sports, nobody does it better than WEEI."
GREAT EASTERN Pres../CEO JEFF SHAPIRO said, "As twenty year station owners in northern NEW ENGLAND, we are thrilled to be able to partner with ENTERCOM to be the first company to bring the WEEI Brand to NEW HAMPSHIRE on our WEEY-FM in KEENE. We've watched the successful rollout of WEEI BOSTON into WESTERN MASACHUSETTS and RHODE ISLAND. We look forward to proving that NEW HAMPSHIRE listeners have even more passion for Sports Talk and WEEI than our Downcountry neighbors!!"
