When MIDAS RECORDS/NASHVILLE recently announced changes in its business model of promotion and distribution for its Country sector (NET NEWS 7/31), the change meant no slowdown for MIDAS RECORDS/CHRISTIAN DIVISION and its band RUSH OF FOOLS. The band's sophomore release, "WONDER OF THE WORLD," will release SEPTEMBER 16th, distributed by EMI CMG DISTRIBUTION in NASHVILLE. For its Christian division, MIDAS has a separate distribution agreement with EMI CMG.
''RUSH OF FOOLS has one of the strongest teams in the industry surrounding them,'' says MIDAS RECORDS/CHRISTIAN DIVISION Head of A&R BRAD ALLEN. ''We have all been gearing up heavily with EMI to see all ends covered at retail. Radio promotions, handled by CHRIS HAUSER and LINDA MEYERS, are going strong. All guns are blazing at MIDAS RECORDS for RUSH OF FOOLS. We are full steam ahead on our SEPTEMBER 16th release of 'WONDER OF THE WORLD' through EMI CMG.''
RUSH OF FOOLS debuted in 2007 with a self-titled release. The album has since sold upward of 100,000 units. The band's debut radio single, ''Undo,'' received the ASCAP Song of the Year award this past APRIL after charting for multiple weeks at #1. The single was also included on the top-selling ''WOW 2008'' project.
