CC Dropped $1.2M On Lobbying In Q2

CLEAR CHANNEL COMMUNICATIONS spent nearly $1.2 million in the second quarter to lobby on its privatization and the merger of rival satellite radio companies, according to a recent disclosure report.
The company, which went private in JULY after a long delay, lobbied on the recent acquisition of XM SATELLITE RADIO HOLDINGS INC. by SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO INC. CLEAR CHANNEL also lobbied on local radio ownership rules, broadcast decency enforcement and regulatory incentives to improve diversity in broadcast ownership.
In the APRIL-JUNE period, CLEAR CHANNEL lobbied Congress, the FCC and the Department of Transportation, according to an amended report filed AUGUST 18th with the House clerk's office.
