September 30, 2008 at 8:29 AM (PT)
What's the most downloaded song in CHARLOTTE this week? "Mrs. Officer"? "Paper Planes"? Nope, try "Freakin' Gas Light." "Freakin' Gas Light," a parody of T.I.’s "Whatever You Like," was written by CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40/Rhythmic WIBT (96-1 THE BEAT)/CHARLOTTE morning show co-host DAVID L., 1/3rd of BROTHA' FRED’S AM MAYHEM.
With the SOUTHEAST experiencing a gas shortage because of refinery shutdowns caused by Hurricanes IKE and GUSTAV. DAVID L.'s timely "Freakin' Gas Light" has passed the 20,000 mark in downloads from WIBT's website.
