With rumors swirling for the past several months, the announcement officially comes TODAY (10/02) that LYRIC STREET RECORDS/NASHVILLE has launched a second imprint with its new sister label CAROLWOOD RECORDS. The announcement came this morning from President RANDY GOODMAN.
As for the name CAROLWOOD, according to the official release, "The name CAROLWOOD has historic connections to WALT DISNEY as it, like LYRIC STREET (Avenue), was a residential address for DISNEY, but became famous as the name he gave to his five-acre backyard railroad, The CAROLWOOD (Pacific Railroad)."
Organizationally, CAROLWOOD staff will report directly to LYRIC STREET VP/Promotion KEVIN HERRING. National duties will be shared by longtime LYRIC STREET Regional CHRIS PALMER and industry veteran JOHN ETTINGER. JOHNNY was most recently VP/Promotion at UMG/NASHVILE. Also sliding over to CAROLWOOD from LYRIC STREET will be Promotion Coordinator STEPHANIE KESHE, who will take on Regional Promo duties for the new label, along with former CBS Country KMLE/PHOENIX MD DAVE COLLINS. Recent MTSU grad KATIE McCARTNEY will be CAROLWOOD's National Coordinator.
“We’re trying a bit of a different model as we want to grow with our successes and so we’ve decided to load ourselves on the National side,” said HERRING.
As for the LYRIC STREET team, their promo efforts will remain intact under National Promo Dir. RENEE LEYMON. A search for PALMER's replacement in the NORTHEAST is currently underway. JACKIE SCHWARZ, most recently with TURNER/NICHOLS (RASCAL FLATTS), comes aboard as Promo Coordinator.
