Shocker! After nearly seven years, WKQI (CHANNEL 95-5)/DETROIT VP/Programming DOM THEODORE has resigned effective DECEMBER 31st. DOM's future plans will be announced soon. During his tenure, DOM has taken WKQI from 14th to first place in the market.
CC/DETROIT Market Mgr. TIL LEVESQUE commented, "I have had the pleasure and privilege to work with DOM over the last 6 years and most recently over the last 2 + years he has been my 'wing man' on the programming side. I could not have asked for a better partner. DOM has been the leader and architect of Channel 955's success and significant growth over the past 6 years. Under his leadership we have witnessed WDRQ exit the format, have seen the station move from 14th to 1st and recently we have accomplished securing the #1 rank 12+, a first for this frequency. DOM has set WKQI and CC/DETROIT up for continued success and I am confident that with the team in place we will continue to execute the plan flawlessly and enjoy new and greater successes.
"DOM has been an integral part of CLEAR CHANNEL/DETROIT's success. His presence and passion will be missed. I wish him nothing but continued success in this next chapter in his career and know that this is not good bye but rather a small hiatus in our working together."
ALL ACCESS hears that those future plans also include VP stripes and a larger role at another major radio broadcasting company. There are 16 tons of rumors as to where DOM will end up. We're bound and gagged on reporting that officially, so we will have to wait to C where he B-ee S-oon.
