October 29, 2008 at 12:37 PM (PT)
ANIMAL RADIO will broadcast a pre-election program on SATURDAY NOVEMBER 1st at noon on XM SATELLITE RADIO channel 158 to discuss CALIFORNIA'S PROP. 2. This legislation will set guidelines for humane treatment of animals on factory farms. Most farmers oppose this because they believe it to be costly.
"Those opposed to this legislation have been gouging consumers by increasing the price of eggs by 40% in the last 4 years," HUMANE SOCIETY Pres. WAYNE PACELLE said. "California's Prop 2 is a nationwide model."
ANIMAL RADIO was created to educate, reduce surrenders and to help animals live long healthy lives.
"You don't have to say more than 'let's talk about prop 2' to get our listener lines to light," ANIMAL RADIO Exec. Producer JUDY FRANCIS said. "Voters are divided."
ANIMAL RADIO is the most listened to animal programming in the US. For a list of complete listening options for the pre-election broadcast click here.
