WGOW's Nash Nixes Mayoral Bid

CITADEL Talk WGOW-F/CHATTANOOGA 1-4p CT host ROBERT T. NASH has decided not to run for Mayor of CHATTANOOGA, but he says he might run for city council instead. The CHATTANOOGAN online news site reports that NASH decided not to run because incumbent RON LITTLEFIELD "has done a pretty good job" and that LITTLEFIELD faces effective competition from ROB HEALY.
"I'd really rather be free to weigh in on it all, as opposed to being in the unenviable position of jockeying for third place in what should be a very interesting and lively race," NASH said, noting that he is "actively researching" a bid for CAROL BERZ' District 6 city council seat.
"Frankly, no one has told me I can't run, but the laws governing broadcast media figures who seek elected political office are as complicated as they are vague," NASH told the CHATTANOOGAN. "I've got the required number of signatures to qualify as a bonafide 'by name' candidate on the official ballot, but at this point, I'm still waiting on definitive word on what's reasonable, proper and legal for someone in my position." NASH has until DECEMBER 18th to submit his petitions.
