RAB November Numbers Blow Cold
December 22, 2008 at 5:17 AM (PT)
The weather wasn't the only big chill in NOVEMBER, as the RAB released the worst sales figures in two decades.
Comparing NOVEMBER 2008 vs. NOVEMBER 2007, local revenue for all markets was down a staggering 21%, with national revenue in all markets off by 24%, for a combined -22% for the year-to-year comparison.
Non-traditional revenue, now called Off Air Revenue, was the only bright side -- if an all markets growth of 1% could be called "bright."
Local and national revenues are based on approximately 100 markets as reported by the accounting firm of MILLER KAPLAN ARASE & CO. Off-Air data has been collected and verified since JANUARY of 2002, and reported since SEPTEMBER of 2004.
