CUMULUS Hot AC WDBY (Y105)/DANBURY, CT officially names BILL TROTTA, a.k.a. "MR. MORNING," as its wakeup man. TROTTA, who previously spent 19 years across the street at WDAQ, starts on JANUARY 12th.
"We are thrilled that MR. MORNING has joined our winning team. CUMULUS/BROOKFIELD-DANBURY GM KRISTIN OKESSON said. "BILL has been waking up his loyal listeners for 19 years and is known in the industry as a well respected, veteran broadcaster. This is big news for our advertisers and for our large community of listeners in the greater DANBURY and NEW YORK area."
"Having MR. MORNING join our team is a giant step forward in our evolution," OM TIM SHEEHAN said. "For years, there have been two big morning shows in DANBURY. We're thrilled to have them both under the same roof. Y105’s MR. MORNING and I95’s ETHAN & LOU will provide the perfect one-two punch for DANBURY radio listeners."
CUMULUS Regional OM CURT HANSEN added, "BILL’s fans from his decades in the Danbury market will be pleased that he’s joining the area’s fastest growing radio station, and local businesses will get an extra boost as his female-leaning adult contemporary show is the perfect complement to ETHAN CAREY, LOU MILANO and our heritage rock programming on CUMULUS DANBURY’s I95."
"I am very happy to be joining the Y105 team," TROTTA said. "It’s a perfect fit for me. It’s great to be once again broadcasting to a more mature demographic, and playing the variety of music that the 25-54 year old can relate to ... I'm also very excited to be working with the advertisers and sponsors and building a winning relationship. After 19 years in the market, and most of those years as the area’s top morning show, I'm looking forward to continuing that run of success at Y105."
