Detectives say GROTHE checked into a MISSOULA, MT motel using his wife's maiden name, and motel officials confirmed it was him after NASHVILLE METRO POLICE sent them a photo of GROTHE.
A man called NASHVILLE's EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS CENTER on NOVEMBER 24th and said that he had murdered GROTHE. Detectives believe that it was actually GROTHE who called to report the murder.
A motive for his disappearance has not yet been determined. GROTHE's life insurance payout would have been approximately $1 million. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
