WAY-FM MEDIA GROUP/COLORADO SPRINGS recently held its first-ever national fundraising campaign entitled "WAY-2-GIVE." Listeners across the country gave nearly $370,000 to the campaign, which included targeted direct mail plus a two-day on-air fundraising event on almost all of WAY-FM stations.
"We needed to try something new this year, so we put together a unique and integrated campaign combining direct mail and online giving with a national fundraising opportunity," explains Sr. VP DUSTY RHODES. "Considering how everyone is feeling the affects of this economy, WAY-FM is deeply grateful to its donors for helping us at this time."
On-air messaging for "WAY-2-GIVE" was unique in that it asked listeners to stand in the gap for other donors who had to curtail donations to the ministry because of the declining economy. BRANT HANSEN, DONNA CRUZ, JEFF CONNELL and WALLY of TOTAL AXXESS served as the main air talents for this two-day event. WAY-FM/DENVER conducted its own separate event a week earlier, contributing to the overall total raised.
