The OAKLAND ATHLETICS, fresh off inking a new radio deal for English language broadcasts with PAPPAS Talk KTRB-A/SAN FRANCISCO, have inked a Spanish-language radio deal with SPANISH BEISBOL NETWORK that will air every A's game in Spanish, the first time the team's entire regular-season schedule will air in a language other than English. Night games will air on BAYBRIDGE COMMUNICATIONS Religion KDIA-A/VALLEJO, with day games on sister Gospel KDYA-A (GOSPEL 1190 THE LIGHT). Veteran play-by-play voice AMAURY PI-GONZALEZ, who began his career calling A's games in 1977, will call the action.
"This announcement represents a milestone for the OAKLAND ATHLETICS," said A's VP/Broadcasting and Communications KEN PRIES. "Our Spanish-speaking fans have provided tremendous support and loyalty over the years, and it gives us great pleasure to reach this agreement to offer non-stop, start-to-finish coverage of our games to this valued audience.
"We thank KDIA/KDYA and the SPANISH BEISBOL NETWORK for their tremendous cooperation in making this deal a reality."
