Colgate Country Showdown Crowns Winner

The 27th ANNUAL COLGATE COUNTRY SHOWDOWN was held last night at the RYMAN AUDITORIUM in NASHVILLE and FLORIDA's JOHNNY BULFORD was named the "Best New Act In Country Music." CURB/NASHVILLE's LEANN RIMES hosted the televised event and presented BULFORD with his prize, a check for $100,000.
BULFORD was the Southeast regional winner from COX Country WWKA/ORLANDO and he beat out four other finalists, KOREY BLAKE, LANCE LIPINSKY, LIVEWIRE and MATT REEVES.
Judges for the event were CAA's ROD ESSIG, UNIVERSAL RECORDS SOUTH's FLETCHER FOSTER, producer GARTH FUNDIS, TENNESSEAN writer BEVERLY KEEL and SONY MUSIC's LISA RAMSEY-PERKINS. Some previous winners of the showdown include BRAD PAISLEY, GARTH BROOKS, TIM McGRAW, MARTINA McBRIDE, MIRANDA LAMBERT and SARA EVANS
