TERRIE CARR has departed from the PD post at PRESS COMMUNICATIONS Top 40 WHTG (HITS 106)/MONMOUTH-OCEAN, mere days following the station's flip from Alternative.
CARR tells ALL ACCESS, "It was a GREAT run at an amazing station that surprisingly -- despite all the 'rumblings' -- ranked #3 in our target demo! I'm looking ... and am totally free as of this past FRIDAY."

Meanwhile, former PRESS COMMUNICATIONS Alternative WHTG-WBBO (G-ROCK)/MONMOUTH-OCEAN, NJ MD/morning-co-host MATT MURRAY joined a couple hundred unhappy listeners at the "Bring Back G-Rock" protest (NET NEWS 1/23) held outside the station this past SATURDAY (1/24) at noon to rally against the station's format change to Top 40 one week ago (NET NEWS 1/19).
MATT MURRAY told ALL ACCESS, "I would like to thank the fans of the station and my show who braved the bitter cold to try to save the station they loved. I hope wherever I end up I can have listeners as passionate as they are."
"It's just sad because it's such as great station with such great heritage," MURRAY said in the ASBURY PARK PRESS. "The station could have remained successful if it had been put into the hands of people who knew what G-ROCK really was to the people of MONMOUTH and OCEAN counties."
