A new lifestyle website LOVEWEBRADIO.COM, launched today, aims to provide "compelling music and information ... with new clarity, simplicity and purpose. The site is a partnership of former MICROSOFT executives, radio and music industry leaders, including KPLZ/SEATTLE PD/mornings KENT PHILLIPS.
The radio neighborhood of the LOVEWEBRADIO "village" will focus on contemporary adult-appeal artists the likes of JOHN MAYER, COLBIE CAILLAT, JACK JOHNSON, JASON MRAZ, LILY ALLEN and COLDPLAY, mixed with "lesser known talent that has the same musical texture." Half of the playlist will feature established label artists; the remainder will be "Internet only artists that fit the core texture." MEGAN PHILLIPS will serve as MD. A series of national concerts to support lovewebradio.com artists will be scheduled to raise the website's formatic profile.
The website will also offer information on the artists played on the station, as well as movie reviews, books reviews, travel, web tips, business/money sections, essays, and a section for discussion. Plus, a charity will receive 10% of any profit generated by the website. This year's charity is Esperanza.
LOVEWEBRADIO encourages listeners to sign up for membership; they will receive a monthly e-mail that offers information on new artists, articles and events. Contests for dinners, vacations and concerts will be promoted through the e-mails.
