The OAKLAND ATHLETICS have signed radio broadcaster KEN KORACH to a new deal, keeping the play-by-play caller with the team for two more years through the 2011 season. KORACH is entering his 14th season with the club and his fourth as lead play-by-play voice.
"We are pleased to finalize this new agreement with KEN, as we consider him a tremendous asset to our organization," said A's VP/Broadcasting and Communications KEN PRIES. "When it comes to providing game description and special insights, BAY AREA sports fans will tell you that KEN has few peers. He's a pro's pro, and we feel fortunate that our relationship with KEN will continue for at least the next three years."
"I am thrilled to continue with the A's," said KORACH. "It means so much that the club has shown this kind of confidence in me. I consider it an honor to call their games, considering the ATHLETICS have such a storied history with broadcasters, including some of the all-time greats like BILL (KING) and LON (SIMMONS)."
The A'S are moving to new flagship PAPPAS Talk KTRB-A/SAN FRANCISCO this season.
