JOURNAL Talk WTMJ-A/MILWAUKEE inks new deals with afternoon "THE GREEN HOUSE" host JONATHAN GREEN and middayer CHARLIE SYKES. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
"JONATHAN is a vital member of our radio station and our community. His local knowledge, sense of humor and curiosity are important benchmarks of ‘THE GREEN HOUSE,' and we're pleased that he will continue to keep Newsradio's devoted listeners entertained and informed during their evening commutes," said EVP Television & Radio Operations STEVE WEXLER.
"CHARLIE provides our audience with an important forum for local discussion of news and current events. His show has become ‘appointment radio' for thousands of southeastern WISCONSIN listeners and I'm happy we'll be continuing to offer his program in the coming years," added WEXLER.
"The agreement takes me beyond a normal retirement date for me," said GREEN. "Most companies that were around back then don't even exist anymore. It says something to be working for a company that isn't run by people far removed from the communities they're in.
"I'm glad they want to keep me."
"The length of this deal shows that I'm in for the long haul and I appreciate WTMJ's willingness to make this sort of long-term commitment," said SYKES. "The next few years are going to be fascinating for talk radio and I'm glad I'm going to be behind the microphone to talk about them."
