ENTERCOM/NORFOLK radio stations, Top 40/Rhythmic WNVZ (Z104), Urban AC WVKL (95-7 R&B), AC WWDE (2WD) and Hot AC WPTE (94.9 THE POINT) can now be heard locally and by listeners in 130 countries worldwide via FLYCAST technology, which enables the stations’ broadcasts to be streamed to smart phones.
NORFOLK is the latest ENTERCOM market to add its stations to the FLYCAST platform. FLYCAST provides portable music and talk radio to phones like the BLACKBERRY, iPHONE and T-MOBILE G1. It's also possible to listen to FLYCAST at work or home on PC and Mac. The player works exactly like the phone version and users don’t have to leave the application or stop listening to their favorite music to surf the Web.
In a press release, ENTERCOM/NORFOLK VP/Market Mgr. JEFF BROWN commented on his stations’ newest technology, saying, "We are committed to making certain that our listeners have the easiest and highest quality access to our programming. Because FLYCAST is focused on 'providing the best breed of stations within each genre, we are excited to partner with this company."
