WDET Changes Include More Music

WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY/DETROIT PUBLIC RADIO noncommercial AAA-News-Talk WDET/DETROIT is bringing back local music host ANN DELISI for SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS noon-4p ET as part of several lineup changes at the NPR affiliate launching FEBRUARY 23. "ANN DELISI'S ESSENTIAL MUSIC" will provide eight of ten new hours of locally-produced music programming on the station.
The weekday lineup will include NPR's "MORNING ADDITION" 5-8a and "THE TAKEAWAY" 8-10a. NPR's "ON POINT" will air 10-11a, with "TELL ME MORE" moving to 11a. Local "DETROIT TODAY" with CRAIG FAHLE will air 1-3p, folding together the existing "DETROIT TODAY" and "THE BACKSTORY." "SPEAKING OF FAITH" with KRISTA TIPPETT will be added for FRIDAYS at 3p and SUNDAYS at 7a and 10p. And "THE TREATMENT WITH ELVIS MITCHELL" will be included in "DETROIT TODAY" FRIDAYS at 2:30p and will also air SATURDAYS at 5a.
Coming off the schedule will be "HERE AND NOW," "DEMOCRACY NOW!," "WEEKEND ALL THINGS CONSIDERED," "LIVING ON EARTH," "DETROIT TODAY WEEKEND," "MARKETPLACE MONEY," "STUDIO 360," "AFROPOP WORLDWIDE," and "NEWS AND NOTES," which has been discontinued by NPR.
