UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP DISTRIBUTION has joined with AMAZON and over 100 music retailers nationwide to celebrate Black History Month with "Celebrate our History to Change the Future," which will run throughout FEBRUARY.
"Celebrate our History to Change the Future" focuses on the legendary MOTOWN, STAX and CHESS record labels. To honor the legacy of these labels, UMGD commissioned renowned CALIFORNIA artist KENJI to create an original watercolor themed painting around some of the artists that make these historical labels so significant. A reproduction of her artwork is being offered as an exclusive gift with purchase at 100 independent and chain retailers across AMERICA.
UMGD and AMAZON.COM are also running an exclusive flyaway sweepstakes. One lucky winner and their guest will have the choice to visit either MEMPHIS (the original home of STAX) or CHICAGO (the birthplace of CHESS) to partake in a three-day excursion including tours, sightseeing, and entertainment.
