Another Suburban Move-In Targets NYC
February 17, 2009 at 5:26 AM (PT)
An application filed on FEBRUARY 3rd by BILL O'SHAUGHNESSY's HUDSON-WESTCHESTER RADIO, INC. would move Ethnic WVIP/NEW ROCHELLE, NY from WESTCHESTER COUNTY into the BRONX with an antenna on MONTEFIORE MEDICAL CENTER.
The new facility would tun 1,750 watts from 132 meters above average terrain, placing a city grade signal over part of NEW YORK CITY. WVIP's application follows two similar moves, with COX AC WCTZ/STAMFORD-NORWALK moving its city of license to PORT CHESTER in WESTCHESTER COUNTY and CUMULUS AC WFAS/WHITE PLAINS holding a construction permit to move its community of license to BRONXVILLE, closer to the BRONX border; both stations would move their transmitters to the BRONX as well.
